Road to the Rose Parade

Read The Forum article about the Norwegian bunad shirt I helped create to be worn in the Rose Parade on
New Year's Day 2014, and watch the video: here

Photos from the creation process:

My uber talented mom, Mary, did all of the tailoring.

I put many hours of embroidery work into this baby.

Thank you to Sherri Richards for her beautifully written article, Aaron for his amazing video footage and Dave Wallis for the wonderful photos documenting the piece. And a special thanks to Shari Clark for thinking of me for this project!

Holly's Adventure Themed Room

When Holly found out they were having another child, she knew she wanted an adventure themed room. “I really love the Pixar movie “Up.” I think there is something so special about having the opportunity to see the world. I wanted to bring all that to my girls room,” says Holly. Part of the decor in the adventure themed room that Holly created was a Taea Made hoop art piece.
"I love handmade items, they are so unique and make a space feel more "homey." Most of the things were bought off Etsy, a local shop called Unglued, or found in vintage shops. I only made a couple things in the room myself. All of the gold letters in the room were made by me," says Holly.

"I’ve become a big fan of white walls in the last year. It allows you to pull color into the room through the things in it. I also really like the color gold. I tried to pull in some of that through the letters on the wall. Everything else in the room I wanted to be soft."

Holly also made the fabric strip bunting over the curtains.

She says, “My little A’s quilt was mine when I was a little girl and I wanted the colors in it to be reflected throughout the room.”

Find Taea Made Life is an Adventure hoop art at UngluedPaper HatA Creative Outlet, or on Etsy.

Thanks for sharing Holly, and for including Taea Made hoop art in your adorable room!
